Double Dutch

OMG!!! ito ang pinakamasayang araw ko sa buong term na to... sa buong taon... sa buong world... sa buong universe! Nyahahaha!

Woke up at around 9, tapos konteng internet work muna... then texted yunis... eh un pala she forgot her cell and mom niya ang nakasagot. Hahaha... paano na kami magkikita eh wala siya cell? Nooooo! I asked tita nalang how to contact her and she gave me Bam's number (yung isa pa namin na kasama sa tennis.) It turns out na Bam is not coming today so hindi rin sila magkasama ni yunis. Waa... after hesitating for some time and 4 slices of spam I decided to trust our agreement to meet sa pergula (place with many arches) at 12. Muntik na nga ako na late, pero mabilis si manong FX driver kaya on time pa rin ako. Haay, buti nagkita din kami dun sa shop ng tita niya. Hehe.

Long bus ride tapos long wait sa pure gold... pero ok lang... ang saya ng buhay kapag wala ka na ibang iniintindi. Tapos na ang term eh! No more subjects to worry about.

Tapos I met yuyu's dad na rin... nakakatakot... medyo maangas... eheheh... pero mabait din. Weee... I learned later na pareho kami name iba lang spelling... Cesar... Hehe. Ate Adobo (chicken and liver) with yuyu, wine glass pa ginamit namin para sa tubig. Thank you tita para sa masarap na 2nd lunch ko. Hehe.

Coach upped the ante during tennis practice. After a review of the basic strokes (dahil lagi ko nalang nakakalimutan) he positioned me between the backline and the service line... nag level na me. hehehe... Minsan mali mali pa rin ang strokes dahil hindi ko pa makuha ang tamang distance sa ball... pero I'll learn.. soon. Hehehe. Grabe, takbuhan na talaga. Tapos ang sakit ng wrist ko sa service practice. Argh! I still suck sa service... pero kung tama malakas pala ako mag serve... thank you volleyball experience... hehehe...

AMF, ang galing ni yunisee!!! @_@ Oi pasakay sa Sta. Fe ha! Nyahahaha... astig... wohooo.

Tapos on my way home bumili ako ng gatorade sa 7/11. Kala nila nawala ako... hehehehe... disappearing act. Nyahaha...

A few minutes into th trip my orgmates txted na baka pwede pa ako humabol sa ice skating nila sa MOA. Wohoo. Eh dadaanan ko naman talaga ang MOA kaya pumunta na me. Hehe... 280 na naman ang damage. Waaa! Pero worth it naman. Kaya lang ang baho ng changing area. Basa pa ang floor kaya nabasa tuloy socks ko. Natagalan pa ako nung humiram ako ng skates kasi kinausap pa ako ng guy sa counter. He saw my racket and he said na he plays tennis din. So we talked about tennis for about 5 minutes. Argh... nahiya naman ako sabihin na "kuya akin na nga ang skates at locker key ko!" Good thing na naging friends kami... kasi my racket wont fit sa lockers kaya iniwan ko nalang kay kuya.

First time ko on ice... dun ko lang nalaman na magaling pala ako (without raising my chair?) hehehe... once again thank you roller blades experience. Mahirap lang pala mag stop. At first sobrang nakakapagod kasi effort talaga mag balance. Pero after I got the hang of it I was running circles around my orgmates na. And kaya ko na mag run high speed laps around the rink. Wohoo, grabe ang saya. It satisfied my need for speed. Yabah! Fell down once though, scratched my (already tennis worn) palms.

Then at around 7 we dacided to eat na... had to withdraw... naubos funds ko! amfness ness ness! We ate at Chef d' Angelo's and hindi ko alam kung ano ang gusto ko. Sabi ko sa kanila na i-order nalang nila ako ng katulad sa order nila. Yun pala they were planning to pig out. Grabe... spag, pizza, one huge chicken breast, one huge burger, one big serving of fries, one sumo size red tea (from tokyo tokyo), and two glasses of water... yun ang dapat kong kainin! Waaa, so for sure hindi ko naubos. Hehe... ate the burger and chicken only a few minutes ago dito sa condo.

Grabe, this super fun day sure took its toll on my pockets and sa katawan ko. This will sure hurt tomorrow morning. Waaa... tapos paint ball pa daw kami sa sunday sa isang forest/island resort dun samin. Waaa... grabe... grabe....

Checked my grades, no grades yet pero "taken" na ang lahat na subjects! Whoho! That'l do! One big exclamation mark to one hell of a fun day. Hindi ko kaya kung araw araw ganito. These days should happen at least once or twice a year lang. Haay. Thank you to all the people who made my day. Hehe. Thanks po talaga... I'll miss you guys. See you in four weeks. =)

I don't know what I did, it must be the video... it must be the fake hair (which has been edited out na...) hehe... but my blog is nearing ninong quality page views.... although the visits stay constant at around 14... but 40 page views? Cool, its an all time high.

Haay, Sana pasado ang com exam ko kanina... darn that re-test... tsktsktksk... another subject in the danger zone - industrial lab, which is at 67.8%... the passing is 70%. But I know the teacher will be adjusting the passing grade to 65% so I'm in the safe zone as of this time. I need your prayers guys.

I was so stressed and down so low this morning that I decided to consult the Bible. I didn't understand any of the phrases I read... hmm, God's trunk line must've been busy. Anyways, answering my communications exam was a combination of intelligent guesses and eenie-meanie-minie-moes, but I think I should score a good enough grade of at least 14/50...

Today was the last day of school. Yes! One more term crossed out, 6 more to go - if all goes well. Celebrated by sleeping from around 5pm to 830pm. Woke up to watch Mythbusters, forgot to remind yuyu about it. Hmmm... Tsktsktsk...

Was so sleepy I couldn't hear things right. The guard called and I thought he said that Jollibee is ready for pick-up. I thought no one ordered Jollibee so I ignored it. It must have been a mistake. I learned later that it wasn't Jollibee who was waiting but Jhonnie... our driver. Tsktsktsk... He must've waited for at least 30 minutes.

Got the tennis pictures at last... after a long wait. Hehe... Thanks Yunisee! Will post pics later...

Studied how to use homebrews for the PSP... its kinda technical so even I am finding a hard time absorbing all the info. Im thinking of reconsidering Venz's assignment, maybe something more subtle. Im already excited! Yeah... PSP I'll be ready for you.

Played Dota till about 2:15 and started typing this blog. I'm still tired but not sleepy. Yawn, or maybe I am. Oh well. Set alarm for 8am... Tennis practice at 12... then I should secure my baggage for tomorrow's flight. Lost my plane ticket already once so Im not going to let that happen again.

Its a stressful day that ended well. I'm all smiles tonight. =D

Vector Vector

In order to release my frustrations, I decided to do something that would distract me from my problems. This was actually inspired by AJ and Pueyo a few months ago and I promised them I would learn it before I went back home again. Well, since finals are almost over and I got little else to do, I guess its time I got started. Its called vector art.

Now, the great pictures editor will not only edit images but also create images of his own. In technical terms ,Vector art is like using equations to represent shapes, lines, and figures. So no matter how you resize the image, quality will not be lost because the shapes, lines, and figures adjust themselves accordingly. Most modern anime are done using vector are. Other examples include flash programs, cartoons (powerpuff girls? Dexters Lab.)

Here's a more accurte description from the wiki...

Vector graphics (also called geometric modeling or object-oriented graphics) is the use of geometrical primitives such as points, lines, curves, and polygons, which are all based upon mathematical equations to represent images in computer graphics. It is used by contrast to the term raster graphics, which is the representation of images as a collection of pixels (dots).

I got it right didnt I? Hehe... did the first explaination without searching the web... so give me a little credit, okey?

Opposite to vector art are resterized images, bitmaps, jpegs. A resterized image is made up of a rectangular grid of pixels. Resizing, filtering, and other forms of manipulation could in fact distort or lessen the qualtiy of the image.

Here's a comparison:

Notice how the image's pixels show up when zoomed in on a bitmap while the vector image on top retains its anime like quality. Hehe...

The bitmaps that im used to working with are usually done using paint or photoshop. I found out that you actually use a different set of tools to create vector images. Programs include Macromedia Flash (Im used to this, see banner on top), Adobe Illustrator (I used this before but never had a grasp of ow it really works, Manga Editor (1.27 Gb, too big of a download for one night), and last but not the least, the very cool Inkscape (Its just 20+ Mb, and its free... click link if you like.)

For the past few minutes I've been trying to learn the basics without reading the tutorials. Maybe I'll read them tomorrow. For the meantime, I've come up with my very first vector art image... (excluding the TNB graphix editor poster w/c I made using Flash.) For this image, I only used Inkscape for the tracing of the bitmap and the basic manipulation of the shapes... then exported the png file and used photoshop to compile the jpeg file. (oops, too much geeky stuff... hehe...)

Its not that good but it made my one happy bloke... hehe... need more time to familiarize self with the different functions...

Sa office po yan and that's me... hehe... actually I hand-drew (actually mouse-drew) only a few lines and shapes. The rest are computer generated. If you cant do something yourself you must find the right tools to help you. Hehe...

Now for my next project... eheh... astig... shading and colors naman next... plus more advanced lines and mouse strokes...

I just hate it when I don't understand the goings on in this world! Argh!!! Pissed. Pbbbttt! Argh!!! What? What did I do? What should I do? I wish I had a simulator... I wish I had some kind of equation to solve for person X's reaction to action Y, if factors J and K are involved. Why can't I get a full day's worth of happiness anymore? Spartan Law (unfinished)

After tennis practice last Saturday (and after a whole school day's worth of exams)... I watched the movie 300 along with some friends. We liked the movie so much that we downloaded the graphic novel (comic book) from which the movie was based from. ( For those of you with raised eyebrows, it's called peer sharing - not piracy.) Anywho... here are a few of my favorite scenes from the comic book... just right click and open in a new window if you want to read the text. For you lazy worts, I did some captioning of my own... And once again sorry to all my non-broadband readers.

The movie was actually based on the graphic novel by Frank Miller, the same baggy-eyed. pen-genius who gave us Sin City. (Note to self, download sin city... the movie and the comic book). The comic book itself was based on (actual historical?) events told in some books, the title of which I don't know. What I do know is that the legend of the mighty 300 who stopped 100 nations withstood the test of time and still stands today to leave most listeners, readers, and moviegoers awestruck each time the tale is told. Warning... movie spoiler! If you haven't seen the movie or been listening to your history lessons... look away young Spartan. However, I assume that most of us have already heard this tale...

The movie starts with the a boy, a young spartan taken away from his mother, driven hard by his mentors, and tested for his strength each day of his young life. Like any regular young spartan, he is left in the wild - cold and hungry, to be initiated as a man... he faces danger, kills wild animals yada yada yada... The boy who was left for dead returns home a king... you king Leonidas. In the scene above, a messenger arrives in Sparta to ask them to submit to the rule of the god-king Xerxes. As most of use have already seen in the trailers, this is the scene where Leonidas kicks the arrogant messenger into the dark bottomless abyss while screaming his trademark line, "this is Sparta".

Leonides provokes a war. However, the elders, bribed by lust and gold, disagree and say that the will of the gods are against it. (Breast exposure scene here, its an R13 movie after all. Kids these days... they're allowed to see more things than we did) Disappointed by the priests decision, Leonides leaves the "inbred swine" and decides to take matter on his own. He goes for "a walk," along with 300 of his personal bodyguard. As the caption says- they march.

They march north. Knowing very well that there they will meet their doom. But death in battle is the Spartans' idea of a glorious death. They would be no better way of dying.

The Proverbial Waters are Calm Tonight

How Ironic. I cant sleep!!!

I need to wake up by 3am TODAY! Yes, that's right! Not tomorrow, but today! That's in three hours! Yet I can't sleep.

Today was another no-class-yet-I-have-to-go-to-school day! Reason 1: I had to pass two take home exams and my portfolio. I lost 1 of 2 exams which should be included in the said portfolio. Good thing a little sweet talk got the better side of my teacher and he agreed to record the score I told him. Hmmm, I should have lied... but anyways... 120/150 was good enough so I told the truth. Reason 2: Its deliberation day and we had to deliver our "judgment." Poor probi's. I knw how it feels when you put so much effort into something yet in the end it wont even matter. Trust me. Been there. Done that. Anyways, congratulations to Tessa and Venz (I hope i spelled your names right). To Harold, Ezrah, and Sherwin. As I said, never leave this office without taking with you all the things you've learned. It doesn't stop here. Be better persons and come back and give us a better show next time.

Tapos ano pa ginawa ko? hmmm... then kumain kami sa cantunan! Kahit gutom ako dapat may control. Kasi may party sa bahay. HAPPY BIRTHDAY IAN!!! Hehehe... salamat sa food. Dami! Oyster (talaba?), blue marlin, fried chicken, crab, seafood soup, pakwan, at inihaw na liempo! Amf naman! As if kaya naming ubusin un! Apat lang kami. Hehe. Eh di yun, binigay nalang namin sa guard. Hehe. Tulungan sa Dishes, ako ang nagsasabon, si ryan ang taga tapos. Hehe. Teamwork, kasi Hari si Ian ngayon - Bday niya eh.

Waaaa... pinapagod ko lang ang sarili ko sa pag-iisip!!! Kelangan ko na kasi matulog! Waaaa! Buti pa si Yunisee. Napagod na sa pag-operate niya ng spotlight. Hehe. Congrats pala sa presentation niyo. Alam ko na you did well kahit d ko nakita. Hehehe. =)

Isang araw... sa opisina... napilitan kami na maglinis ng aming mga lugar... at ito ang lahat na scratch na naipon ko sa nakaraang dalawang taon. Nyahahah...

Kung nagtataka kayo kung bakit lagi kami excited kung may meeting at kung bakit lagi kaming absent sa clase kapag meeting time na... well... see for yourself... hehe...

Same day to... Ito ang mukha ko kung nagiging civil engineer ako! Or kung nag part time ako bilang linesman.... yung taga akyat ng poste... haha... or kung CEO na ako na nag-iinspect sa field. Weh!

Feeling ko tapos na ang hell week. Exams nalang at finals... its almost over! A few more steps! Hehehe... goal!

Talo kami sa CE! Stupid kasi ang basketball team namin, na demoralize kahit na 10 pa ang lead namin sa 4th quarter! Hindi na maka shoot! Stupid.

Hindi pa rin ako marunong mag japanese... copy paste lang yan sa internet. Hehe... Im so happy! Yehey.

Walang prof sa three classes ko today... seatwork lang sa isa and totally wala for the other two. Woot!!! Woot!!!

Only glitch is that may meeting pala, 430pm... TNB office... waaa... Im suppose to go to St. Scholastica College to see ate yunisse... hehe... may dance kasi sila and all, so wala lang... gusto ko pumunta. Its going to be an adventure na rin.

Kaya lang when I got there nagkaroon ata ng miscommunication sa guard and sa teacher ni ate yunisee... hindi daw nabigay ang visitors list etc etc... so bottom line hindi ako nakapasok! waaa! TT

Pero ok lang... dun nalang kami sa lobby ni yunisee. Naka costume pa xa... as a Latin dancer... hehe... weeee... wait for the pics nalang... :D

Talked for about an hour tapos umuwi na... hehe... dami pala namin pinagusapan... ryt ryt yunisee? Hehe... Hindi ko na xa ilalagay dito... weee... atin nalang yun... weee...

So short naman ng post na to... basta, yun lang... wala naman kasi ako ma kwento kasi naka upo lang kami din. Hehe...

Congrats pala ulit ate yunisee.. best costume.... I mean most creative costume... Hehe... >.O Mukha u receptionist sa isang mamahaling restaurant. Yes! Hehe..

Astigas!

Astigin na prototype, muntik na masira ni sir ninong... buti naayos... hehe... sana maayos defense ko bukas... Sir Feddie ok lang yun... naayos naman eh. Nataranta lang ako kanina...


Rear View... astig na PCB... hehe... radio transmitter pala to... pero designed siya na parang bug,alam niyo yun? Yung spy gadget na nakakapick-up ng conversations... kailangan mas maliit pa siya.

Maganda daw shirt ko sabi ni... niya...

Nag chat din kami kanina... inutusan ako na tawagan ang mga kapatid niya sa bahay para mag online... nasa dorm kasi siya. Ang sarap na may commander ako ulit... hehe...

Napanaginipan ko siya kagabi... ang sama ng panaginip... naulit daw ang mga pangyayari... naiilang pa rin DAW siya sa akin... madaling mainis. Pero buti nalang hindi ko nakikita yan ngayon. Haay, buti nalang panaginip lang pala. Tsktsktsk...

Haay, di pa rin talaga maiiwasan na gusto ko pa rin siya... natatakot na ako para next term dahil ka block kami... kailangan ko naman i-suppress... tsktsktsk....

Wala lang... masaya ako ngayon dahil bumalik na siya sa buhay ko... Sana ganito nalang lagi... :D
